This event was designed to provide professional women with an environment to network, hear from an inspirational speaker, and enjoy a boutique.
Set to take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Torrance – South Bay on Friday, December 12th from 12:00 noon – 1:30pm, this year’s Women in Business event will feature keynote speaker Sheri Rose Shepherd, bestselling author and founder of “His Princess Ministries.” Delicious scones, sandwiches, and tea will be available for refreshments, and a holiday shopping boutique will be open from 11:00-11:45am and 1:30-2:30pm.
“The Women in Business event planning committee has worked diligently to create a program filled with fantastic keynote speakers, recognition of outstanding leadership to women in business, and of course plenty of time for networking,” says Jacqueline Folkert, chair of the Women in Business planning committee and Area Director of Marketing, Development and Community Outreach for the Department of Medicine at UCLA Health.
The Athena Award, which will be introduced this year, honors a Torrance woman who best exemplifies exceptional professional achievement, devotion to community service, and generosity in actively assisting other women in their attainments of professional excellence and leadership style. Sherry Kramer, Community Affairs Director for Continental Development Corporation, is the recipient of this year’s award.
“I have committed myself to helping others and making our local community a better place to work and live,” says Kramer. “I am deeply honored that the committee is bestowing the inaugural Athena Award to me at this year’s event.”
Says Folkert, “Everyone is busy, this time of year especially, but I would encourage women who are serious about growing their business in 2015 to make the decision to attend the Women in Business event. It is an invaluable investment in your business and yourself.”
