I have been grateful for the programs that the chamber has given me an opportunity to participate in, specifically graduating from Leadership Torrance this year was a big achievement for me, and being offered to participate in the ambassador’s program as well. Both these programs have introduced me to professionals that I would have otherwise not met. These professionals in their industries are very well known and cover a lot of areas that my clients need services for as well so it’s going to be a great way in the future to help my clients and support other individuals in the Torrance community. I have not only made a lot of business relations but personal relationships as well so it’s helping me expand my network.
In the new year, I’m looking forward to leveraging these relationships to benefit my clients and the Torrance community. It’s going to be great to meet more people and introduce my clientele to these professionals to help promote their businesses but to also promote a more holistic approach when dealing with clients. As a financial planner we deal with many different parts of our clients’ lives and some of them are out of our scope, so we keep to our core competencies and work with other professionals who deliver their personalized services to our clients.
What I like most about the Chamber is that it’s an ongoing network of local businesses that not only help grow my business, but also support it. It’s better than Yelp! No matter what your need, personal or professional, you can’t throw a rock without hitting a chamber member who does what you need. Plus now you have the added benefit of a network of real world reviews!
Since joining the chamber, I have utilized chamber members for plumbing, insurance, catering, signage, and most recently commercial realty. All are chamber members and all have been extremely helpful and personal in their attention to my needs. So, in short, I guess the thing I like most about the Chamber is its members.
The Torrance Chamber of Commerce has been behind us 100% this past year. They reached out to us after the shut down and I was able to share that we had all our events and weddings had cancelled or postponed and the Los Angeles Flower Mart had closed their doors for the 1st time in 100 years. No jobs, no product. We pivoted and pulled on another life skill and started making masks, as there was a shortage in the USA. The Chamber put the word out and orders came rolling in. My sewing machines were called up and vases and floral cutters were benched. Because of this the Chamber recognized Flower Duet with the 2020 Innovation and Design Award and we were honored. The Chamber has ensured we, as Small Business Owners are aware of Grant and Loan opportunities available to help us through this year of uncertainty. We are looking forward to working with our blooms again and providing floral designs for the Chamber and our community once again.
The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce is truly amazing! They are a great support and resource to the community and that is very important to our organization.
It’s hard to say what I like most about the chamber because I like everything about the chamber. But if I had to pick one, it would be the level of engagement of the chamber with its members. I know I can call with any question or concern and will get a friendly and knowledgeable response. Torrance is a very business friendly city and I believe that is in large part due to having an active and engaged chamber.
The Torrance-South Bay YMCA has been a member of the Torrance Chamber of Commerce for over 40 years. This is an active and engaged Chamber that really gets things done. The YMCA has benefited greatly from our membership and participation in the many Chamber events that happen each year. The Torrance Chamber is the heart of our business community and a valuable resource to all of us.
I would like to express my gratitude to you and the Torrance Chamber of Commerce for organizing the ‘Women in Business Panel.’ It’s heartening to witness our community reshaping the narrative of business and business leaders and redefining the concept of success for women in business.
Additionally, I strongly believe that the Torrance Chamber of Commerce truly exemplifies Torrance’s motto of ‘A Balanced City’ through its contributions in bringing prominent business leaders from diverse industries together within the chamber to collaborate and complement each other. This initiative creates an unparalleled experience and fosters the development of a strong community identity within Torrance and the South Bay.
It’s difficult to choose a favorite program because, without exaggeration, there are so many to choose from.
I think lately it’s been the Government Affairs Policy meetings (GAP) because I’ve gotten to see first hand how incredibly hard the Chamber works to advocate for small (and all) business. Business at Noon networking (even in Zoom format!) offers a great way of promoting your business and meeting other local business owners. And being part of the Ambassadors group for the last 2 years has given me the opportunity to give back by sharing with new members all of what the Chamber has to offer. Membership in the Torrance Chamber has truly been one of the best investments I’ve made for my business!
The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce has been a great partnering organization to South Bay Christian School for many years. We are a K-8th grade private Christian school in the heart of Torrance and have been welcomed into the chamber family.
In the many years of my involvement with the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce, I have been privileged to take part in several committees; such as, LEAD, MERIT (both mentoring programs), TFD Awards and Appreciation Luncheon, TPD Awards and Appreciation Luncheon, Women in Business, Summer Fest, iVet, Vision Makers, Presenting Speaker for HYPE, 2004 Graduate of Leadership Torrance, as well as participated in many Chamber events. Being involved is not only a true fulfillment in giving back but the gains you receive are so much more, networking, business connections, resources, friendships, experiences and opportunities of a lifetime.
Providence Little Company of Mary is so thankful for its strong partnership with the Torrance Chamber and all that it does for our community. .
Continental Development Corporation has benefited greatly from our membership with the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce. Over the years, we have received numerous referrals specifically for tenants at our Skypark Office/Medical complex located off Lomita and Hawthorne Boulevards. In addition, businesses looking to expand to other South Bay cities have also contacted us through the many Chamber communication channels.
I have been an active member of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce for 20 years now and I have loved every minute! As a past chairman of the board, I have developed life-long relationships and freindships with the chamber and the City. I always say, ‘you get out of the chamber of what you put into it’ – being a part of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce has been the best investment I have made in business…
The DoubleTree by Hilton Torrance — South Bay has benefitted greatly not only from the many events we have the pleasure of hosting, but also with the relationships we have built over the years with Torrance Chamber members. I personally have served on the Executive Board and Full Board and have found the experience to be an asset to our organization’s growth through the years. Leadership Torrance, a program of the Torrance Chamber, is a great introduction for new members to become fully acquainted with the community and all that Torrance has to offer.
Thanks so much for coming out yesterday for our grand opening, despite the rain. I really do appreciate it. That meant a lot to me. My wife and her family were definitely impressed by the show of support from the city and the Chamber of Commerce. We’ll never forget it. Thanks again!
Dear Donna,
I contacted you when I was at a loss for communication with one of our vendors that was located within your city. You were kind enough to help me with my situation. It is my opinion you went above and beyond the call of duty to assist us with this matter. I want to personally thank you for everything you performed to help us. I would recommend the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce as the most professional and helpful Chamber I have ever dealt with.
Thank you for your referral of Steven Griswold Insurance. Steven is wonderful and was able to procure me the insurance I needed for the Faire. It feels great to have my insurance broker be someone who has actually attended the Street Faire instead of a broker in Tucson, AZ. Chamber networking works!
The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce has been instrumental in building my business. I’ve gotten new clients through my involvement, built a huge list of contacts and, more importantly, I’ve developed a lot of lasting friendships. Every business should be a member.
Being a member of the Chamber has made operating a business easier through the extended resources they offer. Whether it’s a networking event or help with a business roadblock, the Chamber has always been there to help!
Your business can benefit from membership, too.
With the unprecedented volume of innovative programs and opportunities offered by the Torrance Chamber,
there has never been a better time to join.
