The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce hosted 80 students from Shery High School for ‘Business for a Day’ last week. Students were given the opportunity to tour businesses and to listen to speakers talk about their career paths.
‘Business for a Day’ provides valuable hands-on experience, fostering skills like communication, leadership, and problem-solving, while also sparking entrepreneurial thinking and potentially leading to future career exploration.
Appreciation is extended to Providence Little Company of Mary, Virco Manufacturing Corporation, Torrance Memorial Medical Center, and Ganahl Lumber for hosting students at their sites and to the 16 chamber members who spoke to the students in the afternoon about their career paths.
