As I entered Restful Steep, I was reminded of longtime Torrance business, Mulberry Cottage. Like Mulberry Cottage, Restful Steep is peaceful and inviting. I absolutely loved the large purple couch and the wall clock which had saucers and tea cups as the numbers on the clock.
Restful Steep is a retail tea, spice and herb shop located at 3525 Pacific Coast Highway in Torrance that opened in February of 2014. Theresa Ford, proprietor, is more than happy to brew a cup of one of the 50 plus selections of high quality teas and tisanes for shoppers to sample.
Restful Steep’s operating calendar often includes workshops on blending your own tea, tea tastings, movie nights, tea leaf readings and classes on herbal remedies for stress and anxiety relief.
Theresa includes the following information on Restful Steep’s website: “The moral of the story is that personal passion must shine through in this lifetime; it cannot be suppressed or ignored. There is no substitute, no excuse and no compromise. Restful Steep is the realization of just that fulfillment. May of us in the baby boomer generation are coming to the realization that there should be more to life that that corporate office and stresses of a deadline imposed on you. Call it an awakening or whatever you’d like, but hundreds of thousands are asking the question I asked myself, ‘What am I doing with my life?’ Fortunately, we live in a society that affords us choices. Restful Steep is my choice.”
