The Leadership Torrance 2025 cohort spent Public Safety Day with the Torrance Police Department and the Torrance Fire Department. At the police department, the cohort met with Police Chief Jeremiah Hart and toured the facility, led by day coordinators Lieutenant Freddy Ahmed and Police Officer Matt Slawson, both members of the Leadership Torrance 2025 cohort. The visit included a presentation by Officer Slawson on the department’s drone program and a walkthrough of various areas within the department.
At Fire Station Number 2, the cohort toured the station and observed a live demonstration at the training facility, led by day coordinator Assistant Chief Duane Sweeton of the Training Division, also a member of the Leadership Torrance 2025 cohort.
