Students at Fusion Academy engage in a cultural presentation, celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.

As a former second grade teacher, I was thrilled to be asked to do an Out and About article on Fusion Academy. Teachers inspire students to achieve their goals and become independent, productive members of society, and as I toured Fusion Academy, I could see this extremely evident.

Welcomed by Danila Koverman, Head of School and Felipe Ramirez, Director of Admissions I was provided with initial information about Fusion Academy prior to the tour. Both Koverman and Ramirez were enthusiastic, personable and passionate about their positions.

Fusion Academy is a fully accredited middle and high school. Their personalized 1-to-1 learning model matches a student’s pace and preferences – so they can learn better, dive deeper, and never get left behind. Fusion Academy has more than 80 accredited schools across the country serving grades 6-12, and a 100% online offering through Fusion Global Academy.

“Fusion Academy teaches each student’s strengths in a one-to-one setting by helping each student flourish-emotionally, socially, and academically-through positive mentoring relationships and a personalized education experience. There is a lot of versatility with our educational model,” stated Ramirez.

As I toured Fusion Academy, I was not only impressed by the professionalism of those I met, but I was intrigued by how welcoming the campus was. Everywhere I looked I saw positive quotes displayed and beautiful artwork hung. Students are creating an underwater mural that is beautiful. I was also intrigued when I learned about the number of clubs, student organizations, field trips and meet-ups that are organized for students.

On the tour, I was provided with the opportunity to view the tech labs and 3-D printers; the state of the art music room, the art classroom which features graphic design, painting and animation.

Outside of their one-to-one classes, students have ample social opportunities to make friends and interact with their peers. “Our Homework Café is where they finish their coursework, but when they’ve done that, they’re able to socialize in the Social Homework Café space,” commented Ramirez.

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce thanks Fusion Academy for being members. You can learn more about Fusion Academy by visiting FusionAcademy.com or by calling 855.333.7075.
