Students connected with healthcare leaders through the Chamber Foundation’s Handshake Program at last week’s Intersection Between Business and Healthcare event.

Students from El Camino College and California State University, Dominguez Hills were welcomed to last week’s Intersection Between Business and Healthcare event through the Chamber’s Foundation ‘Handshake Program’.  This program provides an opportunity for students to meet and engage with individuals in the fields they are studying.

 Keith Hobbs, President/CEO, Torrance Memorial Medical Center; Mervin Francisco-Passarella, Chief Nursing Executive, Kaiser Permanente; Santiago Munoz, Chief Strategy Officer, UCLA Health; and Nate Mabry, Chief Administrative Officer, Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance served as panelists and responded to questions posed by Jac Folkert, UCLA Health who filled the role of facilitator.

Panelists spoke on the topics of healthcare cost, the importance of paying it forward through mentorship, access to healthcare challenges, cybersecurity, advancements in technology, and mental health.
