I have been visiting a member of this chamber, each week for a little over four years now. Visiting Sockprints this week clearly reinstated “why” I am inspired by each of these visits. Sockprints is the brainchild of two entrepreneurial moms, one the owner of an apparel printing business, the other with a design background in the fashion legwear industry. In 2009, what started as a sock printing experiment for their daughter’s club soccer team has transformed into an amazing business partnership.
As I walked into Sockprints I immediately felt welcomed. From the lime green accents on the wall, to the clever frames showcasing their socks, to the beautiful succulents on tables, Sockprints is a business that makes you feel at home.
“We print one-of-a-kind socks. Each pair of socks ordered is fully customized and a consumer can either upload a design or get creative using a Sockprints design tool,” stated Hayley Mullin. Sockprints uses a printing process that is a patented direct-to-garment printing process applying eco-friendly apparel inks directly on the socks by the pair. They are able to print almost any image in unlimited colors with incredible detail. No minimums. The possibilities are endless.
“In addition to printing on socks, Sockprints can print on dish towels, tote bags, wine totes and dog bandanas. We are currently in the top 1% in domestic and international sales on Etsy,” commented Jann Middo.
As I concluded by visit at Sockprints, I noticed a mural on the wall in script writing that said, “Great things come from small beginnings”. The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce congratulates Hayley and Jann on their growing business and wishes them much success.
